It’s very cool, but I’m not a fan of clear coated “patina”. It’s not like it preserves anything since t he clear coat changes the original look .

I applaud the creativity, but I don’t think that I would have made any of the same choices if starting with a Dauphine .

Agree. Overall the style is a little more extreme than I usually go for, but I barely knew this Renault model existed before I saw this picture. I’ll never forget it now.

I have such mixed thoughts on that, too. On one hand, it preserves the car from getting bigger, nastier rust holes. On the other hand, they need to come out with a more matte clear coat ASAP for this reason. I love the “just pulled out of a field” look.

Exactly. It gives the worn areas a weird dark/ shiny look. The only time I think it’s worth it is when people are trying to keep logos or some other lettering that has meaning to them. Like it was their grandfather’s plumbing truck or something.
